How it works
Sign in once with Sonos – automatically set up
Setup is performed via your phone in three steps:
Set up Wi-Fi: Connect your phone to the TurnPilot setup network. Select your home Wi-Fi, enter the Wi-Fi password, and save.
Scan QR code: As soon as the TurnPilot is connected to the internet, a QR code appears on its display. Scan it with your phone.
Authorize Sonos: Sign in with your system's Sonos account and confirm access for the TurnPilot. Done.
The TurnPilot will then detect the available rooms, favorites, and playlists of your connected Sonos system. Supported sound features will also be offered according to each specific room. You do not need to look up IP addresses or create rooms individually.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need my phone every time I use it?
No. The phone is required for the initial setup and Sonos login. After that, you can operate the supported functions directly on the TurnPilot.
Do I have to register every speaker individually?
No. You authorize the TurnPilot for your Sonos system once. The available rooms are then detected automatically. Speakers that are switched off may be missing initially and will appear as soon as they are reachable again.
Are my settings also transferred?
The TurnPilot detects the available sound functions of your Sonos rooms. You adjust individual TurnPilot settings such as display brightness, text color, view, and power-saving times directly on the device. A complete copy of all Sonos app settings is not created.
Does the TurnPilot require an internet connection?
Yes. The new login and functions via the Sonos interface require internet access. In addition, the TurnPilot and Sonos must be reachable on the same home network.
Can I still use the Sonos app?
Yes. The TurnPilot complements the Sonos app. You can continue to select and control your music via the app as well.
Can I connect a different Sonos account later?
Yes. On the firmware page, you will find “Disconnect Sonos account”. You can then connect the TurnPilot to a different account using a new QR code. Your saved Wi-Fi data will be retained.
