How to install the firmware update:
Two important notes for smartphones
Please consider the following points before updating:
-
Do not use the automatically opened setup window
After connecting to the TurnPilot's Wi-Fi, your smartphone may automatically open a login or setup window. The file upload may not work in this window. Therefore, close it and then manually open the setup page in a regular internet browser, such as Google Chrome. -
Turn off mobile data
Turn off your smartphone's mobile data before connecting to the TurnPilot's Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi function must remain on.
Step-by-step guide
- Download the firmware file using the link provided above and save it locally on your smartphone or PC first. On a smartphone, you will usually find the file in the "Downloads" folder or in the files app.
- If using a smartphone, turn off mobile data.
- Start the Wi-Fi setup on the TurnPilot (Menu -> Settings -> Wi-Fi Setup)
- Connect your smartphone or PC to the TurnPilot's Wi-Fi.
-
If a login or setup window opens automatically on your smartphone, close it.
Open a regular internet browser, such as Google Chrome, and access the TurnPilot setup page:
http://192.168.4.1
- Scroll all the way down in the setup menu and tap or click on the displayed firmware version number.
- Select the previously saved firmware file and start the update.
- Wait until the transfer and installation are fully complete and the TurnPilot has restarted.
Do not interrupt the power supply during the update.
After the successful restart, the new firmware is installed. You can then turn on your smartphone's mobile data again.
